I was born and raised in Fort St James, BC. My mother is an indigenous (Dene-Cree-Metis) woman and my father is a 3rd generation Canadian. At 26 I moved my young family to Nanaimo to attend university. In 2007 I received a bachelor degree in First Nations studies from VIU with strong focus on Visual Art and Education. I have also achieved various wilderness and sea-kayak certificates, therapy certificates in Indigenous Focussing Oriented Therapy-Complex Trauma, and Compassionate Inquiry (in progress, 2020-2021). I am currently also studying Physics. My mind is curious and Ive learned to take immense joy in the learning process.
